Frequently
Asked Questions
When
will a contractor/worker be paid?
Top Echelon Contracting pays workers on a weekly cycle based on time sheet
transmittals. All time sheets require a signature from an authorized company
representative. Expense and travel reimbursements are paid within 7-10
days of submittal with an authorized company representative signature.
Direct deposit is also available.
How
much does the employer
service cost?
Based on the state in which the work takes place and the job
description (for workers compensation) the total markup percentage
ranges from 22% to 35% of the workers hourly pay rate. All associated
payroll taxes, insurance, administrative, and overhead charges are included
in the company Bill Rate and are paid by the company for whom you will
be working.
What
paperwork does a contractor/worker have to complete?
Two simple online forms. After you finalize the Bill Rate with the company,
all you need to do is complete a basic form requesting names, addresses,
dates, and rates. A confirmation will be emailed to you. An additional
form is required to finalize the contractual documents.
What
is the average length of an assignment?
Contract assignments traditionally range from 3-12 months. Nine months
is the average length of an assignment. Top Echelon Contracting requires
a minimum assignment length of five weeks. We also reserve the right to
decline an assignment.
Who
is responsible for invoicing the company?
Top Echelon Contracting assumes full responsibility for invoicing and
collections. We will invoice a company based on the time sheet hours that
are authorized via a managers signature at the company. Time sheets
are submitted with the actual invoice for tracking purposes. Standard
invoicing is on a weekly cycle and customized invoicing is available.
Isnt
this what a payrolling company offers?
A payrolling company such as ADP offers payrolling, but they do not
become the workers employer. They do not
assume any of the traditional responsibilities and liabilities that are
associated with employees/workers. They normally only provide the bookkeeping
function of cutting paychecks and calculating the applicable taxes.
